ARTICLE 21 - TEACHER LAYOFFS, NON-RENEWALS AND TERMINATIONS

21.1  Certificated Reduction in Force The Board recognizes its obligation to meet and negotiate with the Association with respect to the impact of layoffs of members of the unit prior to the delivery of the final termination notices to the members affected. The District shall notify the Association a reasonable time in advance of the delivery of such notices in order that such meeting and negotiating can take place.

21.2 Notice of Non-Renewal or Termination An employee who is not entitled to be rehired for the next school year shall be notified in writing no later than March 15 for probationary employees or May 15 for permanent employees. Temporary contract employees shall be notified as soon as possible.
